Taking classes in Summer 2014?

Are you thinking about or registered for any courses this summer? Great! Need to know if you have any additional funding available? If so, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships offers students a Summer Aid Application for students to determine if they have any additional aid available to them for use.

The Summer Aid Application is available online at this time. Be sure to complete this application by May 1, 2014. Review of applications will begin late April but no later than May 1, 2014. If you are eligible for additional aid for summer, we will post the aid to your account.

The only aid available for summer are the Federal Direct Stafford Loans or the Federal Pell Grant. We can only award Stafford Loans from the 2013-14 year and if you have used your full loan amount- $5500 for Freshman, $6500 for Sophomores, $7500 for Juniors/Seniors- we won’t be able to award you the loans.

However, if you are eligible for the Federal Pell grant we can award from the 2013-14 year or the 2014-15 year. It will be from awarded from only one of those years. If you are awarded from the 2014-15 year, the Pell amount will be taken from the Spring 2015 semester; this will reduce your Spring semester Pell Grant amount. Please note that if you take summer courses, we are federally required to award all students the Federal Pell Grant for the number of credits they earned.
