Maryland State Grant and Scholarship Opportunities

The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) awards a variety of grants and scholarships to students that are Maryland residents. Both student and parents need to be state residents in order to receive the award. These awards are based on merit and/or financial need. Students who wish to be considered for state aid must submit the FAFSA by March 1 each year. Awarded students are notified via email to create an online MD CAPS account to view their award offer(s).
